Crunching some numbers for September

As I wrote in a comment awhile back, I have server stats for my Carolyn Yeager website as well as the stats for The White Network and I promised to write more about the numbers of listeners to my programs based on that. FYI, I post the podcasts of my radio programs that are generated at The White Network on carolynyeager.com just as I did when The Heretics’ Hour was generated at Voice of Reason; thus my programs are available in both places.

The complete numbers for September only (Sept. 1 through Sept 30) are as follows:

Top program: “Libel, Slander, Defamation” on Saturday Afternoon with Carolyn Yeager, aired live on Sept. 1 :  3,087 hits at cy.com plus 344 complete downloads at tWn.*

*I have to separate these numbers because, at the moment, I don’t have access to the number of “hits” at tWn. Tanstaafl only wants to rely on the number of  completed downloads, which makes sense as far as honesty goes; however all other podcasters give the number of “hits” because it’s a much higher number. So to stay on a comparative basis, and not mix apples and oranges, I am happier to give my “hits” too. In fact, I don’t even have a figure of completed downloads within the number of hits at cy.com. Hits include both completed downloads or “listens” and partial downloads or “listens.” That’s important to keep in mind.

You can see from this explanation that when radio networks, and hosts,  claim their number of listeners they can give quite a skewed figure, but that’s the way it’s done.

Number 2 program: “Elie Wiesel and Gottfried Feder” on The Heretics’ Hour, aired live on Sept. 3 : 2737 hits at cy.com plus 214 complete downloads at tWn.

Number 3 program: “Progress Report” on The Heretics’ Hour aired 8-27 : 2097 hits at cy.com plus 335 completed downloads at tWn.

Notice these three programs aired between 8-27 and 9-3 so they had more time to attract listeners in September.

#4 ” Episode 10 – Jewish World Program?” on ‘The International Jew Study Hour’ aired live on August 30 :  2179 hits at cy.com plus 195 complete downloads at tWn.

#5 “Episode 11 – Jewish Imperialism” on TIJ Study Hour aired 9-6 : 1897 hits at cy.com plus 173 completed dls at tWn.

#6 “Crossed Signals” on Saturday Afternoon aired 9-8 : 1705 hits at cy.com plus 327 completed dls at tWn

#7 “Episode 12 – Intro to Protocols” on TIJ Study Hour aired 9-13 : 1785 hits at cy.com plus 176 completed dls at tWn.

#8 “John Beattie” on Saturday Afternoon aired 9-15 : 1644 hits at cy.com plus 243 completed dls at tWn.

#9 “Dietrich & Mishko” on The Heretics’ Hour aired 9-10 : 1484 hits at cy.com plus 340 completed dls at tWn.

#10 “Circumcision” on The Heretics’ Hour aired 9-17 : 1390 hits at cy.com plus 169 completed dls at tWn.

That gives you an idea. I had a lot of trouble with carolynyeager.com in September. Sometimes, because of technical and server problems, I could not upload podcasts and had to temporarily direct visitors to The White Network to download or listen to my programs.  My site was actually down all or part of Saturday, Sept. 22 until Thursday, Sept. 27!  That cut into the numbers quite a bit at cy.com. I hope that October won’t be like September and we can get a better idea of the numbers then.
