April 20, 1939, Berlin puts on an elaborate celebration in honor of their Fuehrer's 50th birthday. Here, troops leading a marching band goose-step past the reviewing stand and invited guests. Enlarge

Hadding Scott joins Carolyn Yeager to discuss why this is so, and to speculate on what The Fuehrer would have to say if he made an appearance in the world today. One answer to his continuing appeal is that "Hitler was right!" Has anyone ever been more right than he, and also proven it? Discussion includes:

  • Hitler's astrological chart reveals a Venusian personality;
  • "The Grand Designer" who was actually in the process of designing a marvelous German Reich;
  • Hitler took on the job of "saving Germany" in 1918 because he saw no one else who would or could do it;
  • Importance of sticking with the Truth - Hitler demanded facts plus sincerity;
  • Hitler synthesized Austrian racial pan-Germanism with the Christian Social movement to create National-Socialism;
  • Hitler's work habits were a bit on the bohemian side;
  • The antisemitism of Richard Wagner and Winifred Wagner's deep friendship with Hitler;
  • The appropriateness of Hitler ending his life in Berlin, plus the last-minutes actions of Himmler and Goering;
  • Thanks to Ray Goodwin and Fredrick Toben for their calls.

The Final Flight of Poldi Wenger - April 10, 1945

Published by carolyn on Fri, 2015-04-10 11:31

Today is the 70th Anniversary of the death at age 23 of Oberleutnant Leopold Wenger, Jr after over 400 combat missions in the defense of the Reich. At the time of his death, Poldi was Squadron Commander of Schlachtgeschwader 10/Jagd 2 stationed at Markersdorf airfield near St. Pöltan, close to Vienna. In this year of 2015 with so many 70th anniversaries relating to the end of World War II going on, this one should not go unnoticed.

To honor Poldi, I am presenting this report, in a somewhat edited form, written by his younger brother, Willy Wenger, about Willy's search for information on Poldi's last days and the dogfight above Vienna with Russian fighter planes that brought about the belly landing by the seriously wounded pilot and Knight's Cross holder. See here for more background. As fate would have it, April 10 was the birthday of Leopold Wenger Sr., who had an especially close bond with his first-born son.

My Investigation

Spring 1997

The winter of this year was particularly long-lasting and a lot of work was waiting for me in the garden. No sooner had I made up my mind to dig up a very extensive root stock than a policeman in uniform came into our garden. He waved his hand when he noticed my puzzled face. I could not explain his appearance. Had I been up to something?

Text of Himmler's Secret Speech to Gauleiters, August 3, 1944, with commentary

Published by carolyn on Wed, 2015-04-01 22:17

Translated by Shoahbloger

Translation of a secret speech for Gauleiters (district leaders of NSDAP) held 2 weeks after the assassination attempt on Hitler by Stauffenberg. Himmler talks about the treacherous and defeatist attitudes activities in the leadership of the Wehrmacht before and during the War,  about the conspiracy to kill Hitler and take power in Germany, and the consequences of the 20th of July. A copy of this speech was deposited by Martin Bormann in the Central Archive of NSDAP and today it is at the Institut for Zeitgeschichte in Munich. It was published in Vierteljahrshefte für Zeitgeschichte in 1953.

The Heretics' Hour: The Cult of the Individual

The horrifying crash of a Germanwings airliner by a stressed-out co-pilot shows us what the result can be for upholding individual rights over national or community rights. The Third Reich upheld the good of the community over the individual; in reaction, Germany now holds individual "rights" sancrosanct, and the community be damned.

Carolyn also remarks on another kind of crash at The Daily Stormer, with the "departure" of a top writer over disagreements to do with its new positioning as a place for men to talk to each other without women bothering them.

How the Aspirin trademark was stolen from Germany at the Versailles Treaty

Published by carolyn on Wed, 2015-03-25 18:08

In 1898-99 German chemist Felix Hoffmann came across a recipe for a salicylic acid compound made by "French" chemist Charles Frederic Gerhardt (a German name).

Though the salicin from Willow Bark was known to relieve pain and reduce fever since it was isolated in the 1820's, it also upset the stomach. A few decades later, Gerhardt found that combining acetyl chloride with the salicylic acid made it less irritating. But he also decided it was too complex to make and dropped the idea.

Some years later, Hoffmann tested the recipe himself and found it worked. Already an employee of Bayer, he convinced the company to make the drug and name it Aspirin - from acetyl chloide and spiraea ulmaria, the plant salicylic acid comes from. First appearing as a powder, Bayer didn't release it in tablet form until 1915. [Image at right: bottle of Aspirin powder from 1899, from Bayer archives]

But after World War I Bayer was forced to give up the trademark as part of German war reparations! At the Treaty of Versailles, the trademark for Aspirin and for Heroin were given to France, Britain, Russia and the United States.

That is how aspirin became a cheap drug and a generic name ... just to keep a German company from making millions off it.

The Heretics's Hour: Greek and Russian Disconnect from Reality

March 23-2015

Notice to listeners:  The first 8 minutes sound like I'm in an echo chamber, but then it clears up. Not to worry, the whole program is not like that.

  • Carolyn speaks to the way the (Jewish-American, leftist) media portrays Greece vis a vis Germany. And why tying “Grexit” to euro zone failure, thus to EU failure, is a lie;
  • Who attended Sunday's first “Russian International Conservative Forum” in St. Petersburg, sponsored by the Rodina nationalist party? It was openly billed as a gathering to “defend the interests of Russia” in the ongoing occupation-dispute over Crimea and Ukraine, so there were very few antifa protestors.

Varoufakis finally forced to face financial facts

Published by carolyn on Sat, 2015-03-21 13:14

IMF Director Christine Lagarde and Greek Finance Minister Yannis Vaurofakis face off, showing a marked resemblance to one another.

By Carolyn Yeager

The latest Greek hero to swagger around on the world stage, Yannis Varoufakis is now having to pull back from his braggadocio and unrestrained comments about Germany. Finally forced to face the financial facts of Europe's unwillingness to continue indulging Greece as Europe's spoiled child, Varoufakis is relenting and may even have lost some standing with his Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipris.

His latest comment no longer insists that the "middle-finger video" was faked, since he's been caught out on that one. He has now written a "pretend" conciliatory blog post addressed to Germany, calling for an end to the "toxic blame game." He presents this blame as coming from both sides, whereas it was 95 to 100% the work of himself and Tsipris, and their Syriza Party political strategy. Their German  counterparts were simply responding as accurately as they could to some outrageous demands and insults from this new Greek government.

The Heretics's Hour: National Socialism without Hitler?

Nuremberg 1938 - No images of Hitler on the banners but the people have gathered at his hotel in order to see him, and he is at the open window, 3rd floor, on the right. Does this mean "cult of personality?" Enlarge

How does that work? Carolyn answers a friendly email from a listener who likes the Fuehrer but asked that she address some of the “questions and issues” (criticisms) he raised. So here it is, Jim, just for you and those who think like you—which are many.

  • Survival of the Fittest: Were Hitler & the National Socialists ill-adapted to survive?

  • Personality cult around Der Fuehrer?
  • Dunkirk, Barbarossa and war declaration against U.S. were mistakes:
  • The Folk vs any one individual.
