In early spring, Russian president Vladimir Putin deployed soldiers without insignia into the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea to ensure a quick annexation of the territory.

After a month of denying their existence, the Russian president acknowledged that the thousands of well-armed fighters, who had previously been referred to as “little green men”, were in fact Russian troops.

Now, in Eastern Ukraine, Russian troops have been deployed for quite awhile, secretly, and some have died. Evidence for this comes from various locations throughout Russia. In Kostroma, 1,300km from Russia’s border with eastern Ukraine, family members of a group of 10 Russian paratroopers captured in Ukraine say all their information has come from secondhand, online sources.

Continuing with the theme of the 100th Anniversary of World War I (1914-2014), Carolyn Yeager focuses on the transparancy of the accusations of barbarism and drunkenness on the part of the German soldier in Belgium. In the second hour, who is telling the most lies in the current Ukraine war is discussed. Highlights include:

• The theme of the Germans "descending from their past high culture to the level of barbarians" is repeatedly used by the Allies, thus the fire that destroyed much of the world-famous library at Louvain (Leuven) is played up;
• Most of the stories recounting atrocities are by nameless people, and were later rebuked as false by authorities;
• Gottlieb von Jagow, German minister of State, wrote that the fire broke out after explosion of a convoy of benzine, which was caused by shots fired during the battle with the illegal civilian shooters;
• Photograph fakery, both in the form of false captions and in the more sinister creation of fake scenes, events, etc. are much more common than people realize - some examples given;
• The suppression and/or ommision of parts of the content of diplomatic reports and/or telegram messages was common;
• Of the nations, Russia was the most extreme in lying, followed by France;
• The pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine and the Putin govt. are using lies as a strategy, meaning they have no shame about it and don't really expect to be believed;
• Bill Finck writes an article in which he compares the situation in today's Russia with the United States in the 1950's, when the undermining of the White majority began.

In dealing with the tragedy of the downed Malaysian airliner MH17, the leader of the Russian Federation, President Vladimir Putin is behaving more and more like a throwback to Josef Stalin and his cover-up of the Katyn massacre. It was Stalin who approved the murder of thousands of Polish nationals in 1940, including military officers, dumping their bodies in mass graves hidden from view in the Katyn Forest near Smolensk, Russia.

If the Wehrmacht had not invaded Russia in Operation Barbarossa in June 1941, the evidence of this massacre would never have been found. Here is a recount of how the crime was discovered, taken from Wikipedia:

The government of National-Socialist Germany announced the discovery of mass graves in the Katyn Forest in 1943. When the London-based  Polish government-in-exile asked for an investigation by the International Red Cross, Stalin immediately severed diplomatic relations with it. The Soviet Union claimed the victims had been murdered by the Nazis, and continued to deny responsibility for the massacres until 1990, when it officially acknowledged and condemned the perpetration of the killings by the NKVD, as well as the subsequent cover-up by the Soviet government.

While he reportedly admitted during this meeting that Dr. Josef Goebbels was a "talented man" and maybe even that Goebbels had 'achieved some of his goals' (this has not been reported everywhere), these words were later removed from the published statement on the ITAR-TASS website.

ITAR-TASS also represented Putin as meeting with "representatives of international public and religious organizations" rather than with the black-hatted Orthodox rabbis we see in the photos taken. Pro-Putin websites have substituted a older picture of Putin alone with Russian flags behind him when running this story.

Kremlin.ru reported Putin discussed the fight of Jewish people during WWII and the struggle that still exists today regarding anti-Semitism. He recalled his visit to Yad Vashem in Israel – a "Holocaust" museum – and also mentioned the Museum of Tolerance in Moscow (which he was instrumental in having had built, even personally donating a month's salary to the cause).

     "Went to Murieta today.  One of the most depressing days of my life.  The hatred these people have for us is mind-blowing.  They shredded American flags and dragged them in the dirt.  We, of course, were called racists even though they did not hide their hatred of us. And, we are expected to welcome them???  Just let one of us go to Mexico on Cinco de Mayo and shred a Mexican flag.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin chairs a government meeting at the Novo-Ogaryovo state residence outside Moscow, Russia.

Once the law takes effect, the dissemination of online material deemed extremist will be a criminal offense, meaning that even "liking" or reposting content on a social network could land users in hot water with the authorities.

Is the president of Russia just a bald-faced liar or is he a complete ignoramus when it comes to the history of his own country and that of Europe?

It has to be one or the other.

In his speech today on Red Square facing the Kremlin, Putin is quoted as saying it was "the Soviet victory in World War Two which saved Europe from slavery and preserved peace on the planet."

Patriotism can cause people to exaggerate and also to play down inconvenient facts, but this is ridiculous. It was the Allied (not Soviet alone) defeat of Germany that actually enslaved all of Europe--the West to International Jewry/Banking and the East to brutal communist/Jewish dictatorships and economic backwardness. Even Eastern Germany was enslaved for 40 years to this Soviet monolith due to its most regretable pyrrhic victory.

Putin divorced his wife and is currently in a relationship with a much younger women.

Putin only had two children – daughters. No son to carry on the name.

Putin allowed one of his two daughters to marry a full-blood Korean. Maybe he couldn’t have stopped her, but he gave the union his blessing.

Putin keeps his own ancestry private – his lineage past his parents is unknown to the Russian people.

Putin is estimated to be worth one billion dollars and to have built a mansion for personal use on the Black Sea via associates.

Putin concerns himself with his image to the voters as a “real man” – minimizing his short stature in comparison to taller men and posing for arranged pictures with wild animals and riding horseback shirtless.

Putin is 5’7” tall. Some insiders say he is only 5’5” and wears lifts in his shoes.

Putin gets Botox injections in his cheeks, and has had facial surgery, thought he is only 61 years old (born in 1952).

“Experts claim that Mr Putin’s dramatic transformation is due to a number of procedures including a facelift, cheek-fillers, a brow-lift, removal of bags under his eyes and Botox.”

“But Jan Stanek, one of the UK’s top cosmetic surgeons, said: ‘I have no doubt at all that he has had quite a bit of surgery.
‘Unfortunately, it has made him look a little odd.
‘By lifting the brow so much it has a feminising effect, which is not what you want.’

Michael Prager, a leading Harley Street cosmetic surgeon, said: ‘He has perhaps had a little bit too much work to the eyes because he has what we call “fish eyes” or “dead eyes”.
‘They look empty because he is unable to express his emotions through his eyes, because the muscles have been paralysed.’
