Carolyn Yeager and Hadding Scott read and comment on Chapter 30:  How Jews Capitalized a Protest Against Jews.

When the Theatrical Trust was finally broken, it was done by another group of Jews led by David Belasco and the Shubert brothers (J.J. and Lee Shubert shown at right in the 1920′s).  The Shuberts turned the theatrical business into real estate speculation and made more money in theatrical leases and buildings. By the eve of the Depression (1930), the Shuberts owned, operated, managed or booked close to a thousand houses across the United States.

Chapter 31, The Jewish Aspect of the ‘Movie’ Problem was begun at the halfway point in tonight’s program. The attention is placed on the immorality, lasciviousness, criminality, etc. of the films and that it simply reflects the taste of the Jews who make them. But also, a movie with sex brings in twice to ten times more in revenue that a decent movie, it was said. An analysis of the motion picture industry revealed that 90% of parent companies were in the hands of Jews. Independent (non-Jewish) producers had to sell in the open market.

Next week we will complete Chapter 31 and go on to Chapter 32.
