FPÖ files legal challenge against result of May presidential election

Published by carolyn on Wed, 2016-06-08 14:15

Norbert Hofer (left) and Alexander Van der Bellen share the stage during the Austrian Presidential election campaign in May.

GOOD NEWS! A CHALLENGE TO THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION RUNOFF, in which Alexander Van der Bellen was delcared the winner, was filed today by Freedom Party (FPÖ) leader Heinz-Christian Strache,

As you recall, it was the postal ballots that pushed former leader of the Green Party, Van der Bellen - who ran as an independent - over the line to defeat FPÖ candidate Norbert Hofer. The margin of victory was under 1 percentage point, or roughly 31,000 votes.

Strache filed an official challenge at the Constitution Court, saying “Without these glitches, irregularities and breaking of laws, Hofer could have become president. I think a re-election is very realistic."

NSU trial update – State Intelligence Service implicated in funding murder weapon

Tino Brandt covers his face as he testifies in the Munich Higher Regional Court about his interactions with the so-called National Socialist Underground.

THE PROCEEDINGS CONTINUE, NOW IN THEIR 287TH DAY, centered around the testimony of 41-year-old Tino Brandt, who is currently serving a prison sentence for sexually abusing minors. He is being questioned as the possible supplier of the money to buy the Ceska 83,7.65 mm Browning pistol that was allegedly used in the 9 murders of Turkish nationals in Germany between 2000 and 2007.

Brandt is a former police informant who was forced to give testimony by lawyers for Ralf Wohlleben. Wohlleben is one of the defendents, who is accused of supplying the pistol to the two accused murderers, Uwe Böhnhardt and Uwe Mundlos. Wohlleben denies he played such a role and, when he broke his silence earlier this year, implicated Tino Brandt. Wohlleben said or suggested that Brandt had organized the money to buy the Ceska pistol.

Hofer sees no trace of politics in election result -- asks fans to respect it

Norbert Hofer and H-C Strache enter the press conference room on Tuesday, May 24. Hofer made clear he would not run for Chancellor himself but would support Strache's bid "with all his personality."

In a news conference today, presidential candidate Norbert Hofer and FPÖ party leader Heinz-Christian Strache made statements and took questions. They offered that there would be no protest of the close election result, but Strache said they had received a lot of letters [of complaints] and would follow up on them. “Only then can you tell if there is some truth” about irregularities so many are reporting.

Strache also called for a new electoral system with a restriction on the absentee ballot.

But Hofer said he could see no trace of “politics” interfering anywhere in the country and requested that Austrians respect the election results. Despite the outcome, he didn't regret his candidacy in any way and called the election campaign an "incredibly positive experience."

Sorry, it's a short one. It doesn't start until 28 minutes in, after the walk, so it's only the 2nd half, with a young Austrian speaker. But a good crowd.

I'm going to attach an article here by Frank Jordans of The Associated Press that I think is informative and pretty fair.

Election fraud in Austria? Establishment candidate squeaks by to become President

Published by carolyn on Mon, 2016-05-23 12:26

This is not what I wanted to post here today, but take a good look even if it makes you sick. Austrians and Europe have six years of this refugee-welcoming, super-liberal traitor Van der Bellen in office. I'm afraid his questionable win undermines the patriot movement Europe-wide because hopes were so high. It should not be so readily accepted, and maybe it won't be.

This outcome is incredible to me, and not fully believable, but the FPOe, Freedom Party of Austria, is not contesting the narrow victory of Alexander van der Bellen by 30,000 mail-in votes.

According to the website of the Interior Ministry, the final vote is 2,223,458 votes for Hofer, 2,254,484 for Van der Bellen. This means that VdB got a huge margin of the mail-in (also called absentee and postal) vote. The German government English-language website Deutsche Welle posted a brief report that explained it thusly:

Norbert Hofer should win, but all votes not counted yet

Published by carolyn on Sun, 2016-05-22 19:20

Preliminary final vote results from the Austrian Interior Ministry

I've been following this election news all day, but don't want to celebrate before the winner is officially announced, expected around 3 a.m. my time at the earliest. All FPOe supporters are feeling cautious about what the Left might be up to with the mail-in vote counting, called the postal vote in Austria.

While we wait, please read the excellent detailed coverage at The New Observer, which follows European right-wing parties closely. I was thrilled as usual to read these lines:

Newly-elected AfD state parliamentarian speaks at PEGIDA rally on May 9th

Published by carolyn on Tue, 2016-05-10 16:03

AfD deputy in the Saxony state parliament, Hans-Thomas Tillschneider, speaking at the Pegida rally in Dresden on Monday, May 9, 2016.

Islam expert Hans-Thomas Tillschneider, who is freshly elected by direct mandate to represent the Alterrnative für Deutschland (AFD) in the Saxony state parliament, was a speaker at Monday's Pegida rally in Dresden.

He said he will always support Pegida because it deserves support.   Pegida has laid the groundwork for the current Islam-policy of AFD, and Pegida was against the EU and wants instead a Europe of nations.

Pegida was also against Islamization, said Tillschneider. Islam is just fine in it's his home territory, but "we just do not want it here with us, in our home, where it is foreign," he said. "Don't let yourself be persuaded that position is xenophobic and Islamophobic".

PEGIDA's Lutz Bachmann found guilty in corrupt German court

Published by carolyn on Wed, 2016-05-04 01:25

Lutz Bachmann speaking at a PEGIDA demonstration.

WHAT ELSE COULD ONE EXPECT?

A district court in the eastern German city of Dresden ruled on Tuesday, May 3, that Lutz Bachmann must pay a penalty of 9,600 euros ($11,044), after being found guilty of the idiotic charge of inciting hatred, a German legal specialty originating from the American occupation of Germany that began in 1945.

Prosecutors asked for a seven-month prison sentence (!) for using the words cattle, scum and trash on Facebook to describe foreign terrorists coming into the country from Africa and West Asia. Imagine, 7 months in prison for something as tame as that!

Bachmann's attorney had asked for an aquittal. The verdict is not yet legally binding pending a 3rd court session on May 10.

Thilo Sarrazin publishes new book about immigration titled "Wishful Europe"

Published by carolyn on Mon, 2016-04-25 02:13

I'm going to be lazy and just republish what I found at the Germerica website: http://www.germerica.com/2016/04/20/thilo-sarrazin-coming-new-book/

Sarrazin came to prominence in Germany in 2010 after he wrote a book entitled, “Germany Abolishes Itself.” His work broke sales records for non-fiction in 2011, selling over 1.1 million copies and talks about Germany as not just a country of monuments and economics, but also of a people and their identity.

Sarrazin remarks that the declining birthrate of Germans coupled with the mass migration of people from different parts of the world will lead to a Germany that is German on paper, but not German in character, because the Germans have “abolished” themselves.
